Stewardship

We want to "be like the snow and the that came down from to sky to water the earth. They make the crops grow and provide seed for planting and food to eat. Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor. Give clothes to those who have nothing to wear , and do not refuse to help your own relatives. "

while at the same time, asking God..

"Give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the food that is my portion,
Lest I be full and deny Thee and say, "Who is the Lord?"
Or lest I be in want and steal,
And profane the name of my God"

Stewardship is generally defined as the practice of considering and treating all things of the earth, including ones own life (time, talent and treasure) as belonging to God. As all belongs to God, we are merely caretakers (“stewards”) of these things. Therefore, we are called to use these things responsibly and for God. (1 Cor 4:1-2; 1 Pt 4:4:10).

My family has never been a success in business--we tried for 2 years to keep a Rice and Egg Stall in the Philippines, but failed miserably to make it profitable. It took me 6 years to recover financially, mentally and emotionally from that business failure.

So, how come I am venturing again now in the open water? Sacrificial Giving serves only to those who are receiving the "sacrifice" directly, however, a business also benefits other people indirectly--by giving them the means to support themselves--for long term. This is the form of giving--that gives the recepient more dignity--as he/she works for a living instead of receiving dole outs or depending on unhealty relationships just to get by.

Trajes mission and vision is to open up opportunties for small businesses to thrive amongst the poorest of the poor, one step a time, while of course supporting the events organized by Pentium Seven. A certain percentage of the profits from sales of Trajes costumes will be used to fund these events.

Sacrificial Giving

Alexis and her friends from PentiumSeven (an online Christian organization) started organizing charity events through Sacrificial Giving.

Why do we call this Sacrificial Giving?

Some of us are actually financially comfortable and giving does not cause any discomfort--and thus giving -- is intentionally a "gift".

For example, if one's earning per month is $10,000 USD and you have about $100 to charity- and that person does not support a family but just himself--then that is a "gift"/

However, many of us does not live with a $10K paycheck everymonth, so giving that $100 is a"sacrifice".

If you are a Single parent, juggling your time between work, family and volunteering--then the time you gave for volunteering is a "sacrifice".

Most of the members of Pentium Seven--happen to be in that 2nd category--giving with overflowing hearts coming from shallow pockets and busy life.

Why Sacrifice then?
Why sacrifice our resources, time and money for people we do not even know? Because this is what our faith in God and our hearts "moved" us to do..

Even for some of us who are not spiritual, are always moved to give anynomously---but most often than not--this "gift" giving rather than sacrificial giving. Although both "gift" giving and "sacrificial" giving are often driven by love for fellowmen, certain minority group or love of country. "Sacrificial giving" has deeper roots and is driven by

1) A recognition that God, not ourselves, is our provider

2) A desire to place God first in every aspect of our lives

3) A quiet confidence in the Lord's protective care;

4) An ability to distinguish between wants and needs;

5) A deeper consciousness of society's materialism and consumerism;

6) A keener appreciation of the world's poor and how we should and can alleviate their pain and poverty; and

7) A sense of serenity and satisfaction

8) love of country and fellowmen
