Stewardship

We want to "be like the snow and the that came down from to sky to water the earth. They make the crops grow and provide seed for planting and food to eat. Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor. Give clothes to those who have nothing to wear , and do not refuse to help your own relatives. "

while at the same time, asking God..

"Give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the food that is my portion,
Lest I be full and deny Thee and say, "Who is the Lord?"
Or lest I be in want and steal,
And profane the name of my God"

Stewardship is generally defined as the practice of considering and treating all things of the earth, including ones own life (time, talent and treasure) as belonging to God. As all belongs to God, we are merely caretakers (“stewards”) of these things. Therefore, we are called to use these things responsibly and for God. (1 Cor 4:1-2; 1 Pt 4:4:10).

My family has never been a success in business--we tried for 2 years to keep a Rice and Egg Stall in the Philippines, but failed miserably to make it profitable. It took me 6 years to recover financially, mentally and emotionally from that business failure.

So, how come I am venturing again now in the open water? Sacrificial Giving serves only to those who are receiving the "sacrifice" directly, however, a business also benefits other people indirectly--by giving them the means to support themselves--for long term. This is the form of giving--that gives the recepient more dignity--as he/she works for a living instead of receiving dole outs or depending on unhealty relationships just to get by.

Trajes mission and vision is to open up opportunties for small businesses to thrive amongst the poorest of the poor, one step a time, while of course supporting the events organized by Pentium Seven. A certain percentage of the profits from sales of Trajes costumes will be used to fund these events.
